Our testimonials

I booked the Grange to accommodate myself my son, my parents, my uncle, my sister and her husband and daughter for my cousins wedding in Penistone. The whole family were absolutely delighted with the accommodation. Eight of us felt very comfortable as the property is very generous with two drawing rooms a dining room and utility. All of the finishes and fittings are of very high quality and finish, this old building is solid and not a creak from the wooden heated flooring. The beds were as comfortable as the Ritz Carlton and the Garden perfect for al fresco dining. Hilary and her family are the perfect hosts making the booking very easy and even welcoming us with a delicious home made cake. The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and on your doorstep. Perfect, Thankyou !

Booked The Grange for ours sons graduation we stayed for 3 nights there were 6 of us . The house is immaculate and both decoration and furnishings are of an extremely high standard. Everything you could need is to hand. The Garden is beautiful and the well is a wonderful feature. We would definitely stay here if we needed to go up North again. We all slept well due to the comfortable beds plenty of bathrooms so no waiting for someone to finish. A warm welcome and a wonderful chocolate cake was waiting for us along with essentials and a bottle of red wine.....what more could you ask for.

My sister booked The Grange for her '60th Birthday Family Girls' Weekend Away'. Although we only traveled from Sheffield, we felt like we had entered another world and instantly felt relaxed.
Everything we could wish for was there and a lovely cake provided a special touch to our party! The bedrooms were all uniquely individual and the whole place was immaculate. It was possible to wander through the house and spot a new and interesting feature each time, due to its thoughtful restoration and originality.
We are already working out what we could celebrate next as an excuse to book again!

We stayed at The Grange for Xmas there were 6 adults and 2 infants and there was plenty of room for everyone and with a second lounge space to escape for anyone that needed 5 mins peace and quiet. We were left a beatiful Christmas cake which was a lovely touch and we were made to feel really welcome by Hilary and her family.

I booked The Grange to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday with 3 other couples; I could not praise the owners (thank you Hilary) more. Both Kate, myself and our friends were very impressed by the cleanliness, spacious rooms and all the other available facilities. We would all have no hesitation in returning and/or recommending it to any one else. As another reviewer said, if you are looking in this area, look no further… All our activities for the week-end, 315 Bar and Restaurant, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Barbara Hepworth Museum, golf, the Fountain Inn and walks & runs around the reservoir, and of course Kate’s birthday celebrations, were all excellent, but were made even better by knowing we were returning to The Grange, which was so well placed. Again thank you for making our celebrations something that will be talked about for a very long time…

We stayed at The Grange for a long weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday with my 3 daughters and their partners. We arrived to a very warm welcome from Hilary the owner and a delicious home made coffee cake and bottle of bubbly.
The old coaching inn dating back to 1624 has been beautifully and lovingly restored with great attention to detail and was spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious with beamed ceilings, the beds are comfortable and the house is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a lovely garden at the rear with a seating area and it's own well (which can be lit at night).
There are lovely walks on the doorstep and I would definately recommend a stroll around Ingbirchworth Reservoir a short distance away. There's lots to do in the area, we visited Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine) and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which were enjoyed by all.
The whole family had a great weekend and we couldn't recommend it highly enough
